Experience Chinese culture in Dresden
“Honesty, Compassion, Tolerance”
Since 2003, the Chinese-German Center has brought people from China and Germany together: through martial arts and calligraphy, Qi Gong and archery, school programs and personal support.
One association, two cultures, real encounters
Three values carry our work: honesty, compassion and tolerance. We keep them alive as part of traditional Chinese culture and bring them into the exchange between Chinese-speaking people and German society.
What matters most are the personal experiences on both sides. Our activities are the places where those experiences meet.
The association was founded in 2003 by students at TU Dresden. Today it belongs to Dresden's cultural life: with weekly training, classes, festivals and educational programs at schools and kindergartens. All of it is carried by volunteers.

From martial arts to calligraphy
All activities are open to beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Just drop by or sign up.
Wu Shu 武術
Traditional Chinese martial arts: Tanglang Quan, Northern Shaolin, Baji Quan as well as staff, saber and sword forms. Tuesdays and Fridays, 6:30 pm.

Traditional Chinese thumb-draw archery, right after Wu Shu training, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 pm.
Join the trainingCalligraphy 書法
Read, write and understand Chinese characters, with idioms and language history. Thursdays, 8:00 pm at our club room.
Join the classQi Gong 氣功
The traditional Chinese path to relaxation and health of body and mind. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6 to 8 pm.

All-day program “Chinese Culture” at Dresden schools, plus tea ceremony, fairy tales and more for kindergartens.

Chinese New Year, Moon Festival & more
For more than twenty years we have celebrated Chinese New Year and the Moon Festival together with the people of Dresden.
The venues range from the grand hall of Dresden City Hall to the Day of Saxony. In 2026 we welcome the Year of the Horse.

Look it up, cook it up
What we pass on in our classes is also there to be read: twelve tried-and-tested recipes from our cooking classes and the Oyang Archive on Chinese-German cultural work.
Both are freely accessible, no registration – including for everyone who cannot make it to Altstrehlen.

We publish news, photos and short-notice announcements on Instagram.
What stands on this site holds for the long run. What comes up at short notice goes on the noticeboard, usually the same day.
